Bear Hockey

What about this now?

This is a somewhat random webcomic I'm making because I like web comics and feel like I should be creative / contribute to society somehow. The name BearHockey came because I once saw a video of bears playing hockey and I thought that it was the best thing ever. I still do. This comic has little to do with bears or hockey. As of yet anyway.

I try to update once a week. Sometimes I'm late, sometimes I update more than that, and sometimes I don't update at all. A safe bet is to check Wednesdays to see if I did anything. since Wednesday is when I start my workweek, and thus have less time to work on anything. A safer bet is to just follow me on Twitter (that big "t" at the top), since I post my comic updates on that. You can also "become a fan" on Facebook, if you're one of those cool people who use Facebook for more than Farmville. Also up there is a blog where I talk about comics and life, and my Deviant Art account for things that sometimes aren't comics.

Why webcomics? Well, I was inspired by a slew of other artists. Jeph Jacques of Questionable Content is my webcomic super hero. My comics aspire to be like his, though they probably wind up looking like copyright infringement. Sorry. I also feel like David Willis of Shortpacked (and others) was a big inspiration to me as well. Him and his witty nerd humor really plucks my heartstrings. And the epicness that is Pete Abrams's Sluggy Freelance started my love of web comics.

This comic is my creative outlet to the world. It's my goal to make a few people smile, one person laugh, and hopefully I can improve my drawing skills in the process. I'm going on the assumption that no one reads this, but I wouldn't mind the occasional "hello" to let me know I'm completely wrong.

Little Bit About Me

I'm Max.

I went to college at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb Illinois, got a B.S. in computer science. I used it to make this website. I have a good job that has odd hours, which is great for working on a comic like this.

Cast and FAQs?

People have ask me questions frequently for me to answer them, so no. Also, a cast would require work, which I am strictly against.
