AID is an ancient interface device the players find on "planet". He's pretty helpful.

Background

AID was installed into the unknown planet's main system terminal some 122 million years ago, and existed there for 100 million years until the the power supplies for the interface were interrupted and it went offline (22 million years ago). While installed, AID's primary function was to facilitate in "gate transference" - essentially it cataloged and navigated to different doors from the facility. It also monitored keysphere storage and transference, and would monitor the security bots, though did not have direct control unless in emergencies.

During the last 22 million years, AID does not know anything that had happened to the facility, and any sensors or data banks that may have contained data were disconnected from its systems. Additionally, the full catalog of system data is much too large to fit within its own systems, and as such has lost that knowledge when it became disconnected from the main servers. As such, it only has room to store four system's worth of information - those four systems are the last systems it has accessed. AID is however still an interface device, and while connected to a Door it is able to locate systems based on search criteria (usually) and is able to ascertain some preliminary information on the location before opening.

AID has no knowledge of Red Keyspheres - they are not part of its original programming and any information on them would not be stored within its memory.
