Alexander Grau is a captain in the Scarlet Empress's army. He hates Anathema and losing, and likes potatoes.

Prelude

Battle at Ravnhurst

Grau was leading a company of men on the Silver River through the docks of Ravenhurst during which they saw a man begin to violently glow. Grau knew at once what it meant: Anathema. He quickly ordered his boat to dock along with the anathema's presumed vessel, and wasted no time ordering his men into position. As trained, Grau had all those presumed to be associated with the target - hired men, conspirators, or whatever they were - executed in the confusion. Once that been cleared, he took up defensive positions at head of the dock with half his landing party, while the other half took the dazed anathema to the end of the dock to begin execution. He might begin to struggle, so separation, speed, and safety were paramount.

However, it was at that time The Circle came upon the scene and immediately came to the anathema's rescue. Though Grau recognized some as anathema and surmised that they were here to rescue their brethren, he was not prepared for the speed and ferocity witch which they moved. Off guard, his men were decimated and he was forced into the river where he made to his boat for a retreat. On the way out of the fray, Grau raised a threatening fist in the air, cursing those anathema and their conspirators, silently vowing to get his revenge. He was ultimately knocked unconcious by a thrown sword, and presumably is still making his way back to the Realm on that ship.
