Personal Log of Severus Stig == Log 190919 == The morning after the ball, with an aching in my joints that accompanies a late night of sleeplessness (and perhaps vomiting) the group and I convene in the hall for morning sustenance. Here we are informed by Callidus that Ignace has sent word for us to meet him "under the broken moon" to retrieve more information about what he has discovered in the Verdant cult. We finish our meals and quickly make way to the market in town. None of us have any idea what his statement about the moon is about, and a few inquiries with passerby's result in no leads. I decide to query a local data hub for information, and immediately locate a restaurant overlooking a large statue of a shattering moon. I offer that information as the best starting point, and we depart. Not immediately seeing Ignace, I head over to the bar area and order a drink; there is an unusual thirst starting in the back of my throat, and I hope to quench it with this. The Assassin climbs a streetpole - making quite a spectacle of himself in the process - and managed to spot Ignace near the base of the statue. The Assassin informs us he is motioning for us to meet him, and we begin to head in his direction (I return the drink to the bar, offering to pay it when I get back). However, as soon as we approached him, and he brought out a dataslate, a peculiar thing happened: the man's head exploded. Before having time to take stock of the situation, a large hooded figure in a slate robe dropped down (from where did he drop down from?) and grabbed the data slate. With the dataslate in its possession, it quickly started running from our position in a strange manner, wherein his torso did not turn. He must be on mechanical legs. Our party began to chase after him, though knowing I was in no shape to give chase, took out trusted Larry and set the mysterious figure in my sights. I managed two hits - one to the torso and one to the head - but he persisted and disappeared behind a tent. The Assassin jumped after him, but did not look like it was very productive. With no clear shot, I reluctantly start moving along the rest of the group towards the direction he was headed. I hear more gunfire, and soon see the robed being jump out and climb to the top of a building. The Psyker attempts to dislodge him, and in a swift motion the figure takes what looks like a grenade out of his robe and attaches it to the dataslate, throwing it in my direction. While lesser beings might have panicked at the sight of an explosive, I feel the calling of the machine spirit within the dataslate and grenade and make my way over. The two devices are adhered crudely and I quickly separate them - putting the dataslate away into my robes - and turn my attention to the grenade. Looking over it once, the mechanism seems simple enough, and I find the trigger switch and flip it to the OFF position. With both machine spirits calmed and the cloaked figure nowhere to be seen, the rest of my cohorts assemble around me. The Adjudicator points out that we have caused quite the ruckus, and as we were instructed to "not make a scene" it would be wise for us to leave the scene we have made. Agreeing, we make haste towards the Callidus household in order to inform him of the situation and take stock of the situation. I'm looking forward to analyzing the dataslate for what information Ignace has acquired, as well as examine the grenade for it's properties... however, the strange thirst is beginning to grow, and the sensation is none too pleasant...
